How a 2005 Honda Civic Alternator Scare Led Me to Philips Headlights and a $12 Gasket

It started with a phone call at 4:45 on a Tuesday. Shop 4 said the 2005 Honda Civic we use for local parts runs had headlights that were flickering, then dead. The tech was already leaning toward an alternator. He wanted to order one before closing.
